Stephen J. Rice
Associate

Mr. Rice concentrates his practice in the fields of trust and estate litigation, estate administration, and estate planning. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (1997) and the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law (2005), where he was a member of the Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Rice lived in Germany for five years, starting with a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in 1997 and continuing with employment as an Editor for the Fulbright Commission from 1998–2000 and as a Producer for Yahoo! Germany from 2000–2002. He is fluent in German.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Rice worked as a Staff Attorney with the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit in Lake County, Illinois. There, he clerked for the Circuit’s 32 judges, working primarily on civil litigation, but dealing with some issues in criminal cases as well.

Mr. Rice is the Co-Editor of The Docket, the Lake County Bar Association’s monthly journal. In addition to editing The Docket, he is a frequent contributor. He also serves as a volunteer mediator with the Center for Conflict Resolution.

In addition to Illinois, Mr. Rice is also licensed in Wisconsin.
