David M. Lutrey
Partner

Mr. Lutrey concentrates his practice in the fields of trust and estate litigation, estate administration and planning, as well as guardianship, business and real estate law.  He is a graduate of the University of Illinois (1992), DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Management (1996), and DePaul College of Law (1996). 

From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Lutrey served as the President of the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce and is a Past President of the Lake County Estate Planning Council.  Mr. Lutrey is also a member of the Lake County Bar Association’s Wills, Trusts and Probate Committee and is a periodic speaker at the Committee’s annual seminar for attorneys on issues relating to trust and estate planning, administration and litigation.

Mr. Lutrey has considerable trial and appellate experience and was called for oral argument before the Second District Court of Appeals in the Estate of Weiland, 788 N.E.2d 811, 273 Ill. Dec. 220 (2d Dist, 2003), the case that established the standard of proof for Totten Trusts in Illinois.

Mr. Lutrey is a periodic author for Bar Association publications including his recent article Durable Powers of Attorney and the Disabled – Who’s Watching? published in 2007.  He also serves as an arbitrator with the 19th Judicial Circuit in Lake County, Illinois.
